For the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, Afghanistan has named all-rounder Gulbadin Naib and uncapped left-arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmed to their 18-man roster.
Later this month, in Kandy, the series will start. The rest of Afghanistan's roster consists of the same players who thrashed Zimbabwe 3-0 at home.
Noor, who is 18 years old, has already established himself in numerous T20 leagues around the world despite having yet to play an ODI.
Noor's 4/10 on his or her T20 International debut ranks as one of the top bowling debuts ever.
Despite not being selected for the team to play in the T20 World Cup in Australia, he remained a regular with the squad.
As a replacement for the injured Hazratullah Zazai, the former ODI captain Naib joined Afghanistan's team halfway through the T20 World Cup. He last played ODI cricket in February.
The squad also includes Mohammad Nabi, who gave up the T20 team captaincy following Afghanistan's poor showing at the T20 World Cup.
The ODI Super League includes these three games. This show will debut on November 25. All three games will be place in Kandy.
With ten victories from 12 games, Afghanistan are presently seventh in the Super League points standings.
